### Bioregional Commons

Bioregional Commons is a meeting place for folks working around the Earth on local organizing to find the others in their local landscapes. We are growing a worldwide network group of people working on "reinhabiting" Earth’s bioregions.  
A bioregion is a geophysical terrain often bounded by a watershed with specific flora, fauna, soil, and climate, but it is also inclusive of human cultural ideas about how to live in a specific place.  
What does it mean to reinhabit Earth’s bioregions and why is it important? “Reinhabitation” was coined by Peter Berg, founder of the Planet Drum Foundation, which has advocated for bioregionalism for 50 years (since 1973). Reinhabitation involves learning to live in harmony with a life-place.  
We can look to a proliferation of factors summarized as an eco-psycho-social metacrisis to confirm that the dominant human mode of habitation is not viable. For many of us, the reinhabitation process involves both an unlearning of degradative ways of being and the learning or rediscovery of healthier patterns that can reconstitute our interconnected world.  
No one has "the" answer as only a plurality of perspectives will suffice. Your voice matters so thank you for joining the conversation! Together we can weave a vision of a better world that works for all.
